French fashion house Balmain has collaborated with Beats by Dr Dre to design new wireless headphones in true fashion-meets-music style.
With excellent battery life, the headphones provide one hour of playback after only five minutes of charging.
“Seeing music and fashion as completely intertwined reflects how my generation grew up – we simply cannot conceive of one without a full helping of the other,” says fashion icon Oliver Rousteing, who is also the creative director of Balmain.
“It’s obvious that the brand agrees with me that the best of music can only be paired with the best in design,” he adds.
Balmain’s vision that fashion is inseparable from music is reflected in the design of the headphones, which come in fashionable colours – khaki and safari – with metallic gold accents, representing Rousteing’s vision of a metallic gold safari.
To bring his urban safari to life, a campaign featuring Kylie Jenner has also been launched.
“Beats are my favourite headphones, so this is something I’m passionate about and I’m excited to be a part of this campaign,” says Jenner. “Music means a lot to me. I love the escape it gives us.”
The campaign will also feature music by artist Jaira Burns.
