Neck’s Best Thing: These new creams target your neck and décolleté

Though ladies never hesitate to splurge on skincare routines for their faces, one of the first telltale signs of ageing actually appears around the neck. To combat this undesirable conundrum, a slew of new products have been launched this season, putting the focus beyond the face to the nape and the décolleté as well.

Notable among these is international beauty brand La Mer’s new offering, The Neck and Décolleté Concentrate, said to strengthen, soften and smoothen skin through a cell-renewing Miracle Broth. Coming with a similar promise is the Syntactif Crème Cou et Décolleté cream from Japanese skincare marque Clé de Peau Beauté. When used together with the rose-petal shaped Essential Flow Massager, it enhances blood circulation around the neck area, lifting any signs of sagging.

Parisian brand Darphin, meanwhile, offers a holistic skincare regime through its Stimulskin Plus Multi-Corrective Divine Cream. Targeting not just the neck but also the face, it’s apparently best utilised when applied using Darphin’s own Kinesio massage techniques. Taking a similar approach is US-based cosmetics company Tom Ford Beauty’s Tom Ford Research Crème Concentrate, said to provide 24-hour moisture protection to the skin, thanks to its algae, caffeine and green tea extracts.

Finally, beauty brand Helena Rubinstein looks to restore damaged skin in just three days courtesy of its Replasty Age Recovery Night cream, that contains an unprecedented 30-percent clinical dose of Pro-Xylane – a key ingredient for skin recovery.

It is, indeed, time to trade in those light summertime creams in favour of weightier, more rejuvenating treatments. Fortunately, there is no shortage of skincare brands only too willing to help you make the required transformation.

Out with the old: Four beauty solutions for the forever young

With age, so they say, comes wisdom, poise and return on investment. Less alluringly, superannuity also brings with it wrinkles, crow’s feet and other signs of incipient decrepitude. The challenge eternal, then, is to revel in all the plus points of inching ever closer to pensionhood, while ably diminishing time’s toll at every turn.

Ever ready to prop up the cosmetic conceits of the age-averse, pretty much every beauty brand has its own take on wrinkle reparation and skin rejuvenation. At present, foremost among these is the recently launched Abeille Royale Double R Renew & Repair Serum, courtesy of Guerlain, the renowned French beauty line. Boasting the very latest in soft peeling technology, the serum is said to renew and repair dull skin, all by harnessing the good offices of TIEG1, a potent collagen-replenishing gene.

Another apparently effective year-rewinder is RéVive’s Intensité Complete Anti-Aging Serum. This fast-absorbing treatment comprises an advanced line-relaxing complex that is said to significantly soften lines while covering micro-crevices and giving skin that expertly-Photoshopped feel.

Meanwhile, those reluctantly resigning themselves to an eternity of dark spots – another consequence of more candles on your cake – could do far worse than invest in Helena Rubinstein’s Re-Plasty Laserist Brightening Creator Cream in Serum, an anti-dark-spot serum-cum-cream that has, apparently, learnt a lesson or two from laser technology.
