Mercato's new home-style brunch

Located in the heart of Central, Mercato by Jean-George is a favourite among cities dwellers and is famed for its simple yet scrumptious Italian fare created with market-fresh ingredients. Launching its new weekend brunch menu with family-style dishes, Mercato is the ideal place to play catch up with family and friends. Created by Head Chef, Anthony Burd, the revamped menu offering traditional home-style brunch items is inspired by memories from his childhood in the U.S.

The first thing you will notice upon entering is the farm-chic interior, instantly lending a cosy feeling to the room, while the open terrace is a welcome spot for summer days spent under the clear blue skies.

On first glance, the brunch menu appears both exciting and daunting all at the same time. With over 10 options, you can rest assured that no one will be left feeling hungry. Start your brunch with the all-American Crispy Chicken sandwich (HK$198) served with fried egg, yuzu pickles, and chilli pepper aioli on house-made brioche buns. The delicate bun provides a delicious contrast against the crispy breaded chicken, while the chilli pepper aioli packs the perfect punch. Alternatively, opt for the generously sized Sunny Side Up, Egg House-Made Sausage Pizza (HK$188) with three cheese and pickled chillies, perfect for sharing (or for those curing a Friday night hangover!)

If you are looking to incorporate some fizz into your weekend pleasures, opt for the bubbly experience by adding two hours of free-flow Bel Star Prosecco (HK$198) or Champagne Mumm (HK$258). For those refraining from the oh-so-tempting weekend indulgence, the signature mocktails will be sure to please.

To end your weekend brunch bonanza, one must not leave without trying the beloved Cinnamon Sticky Buns with Cream Cheese Frosting – available only on weekends. The freshly baked buns are lightly coated in an irresistibly smooth frosting, making for the perfect treat without being too heavy. Warning: These sticky bites of goodness are incredibly addictive. Approach with caution!
